JENO Engine Amplifier (Distortion Removal and Noise Shaping Optimization)

For accurate, lossless transmission of large amounts of audio data to speakers, the SU-G700M2's power amplifier section uses full digital amplification using the JENO Engine based on the concept of reference systems. To address the degradation of sound quality due to jitter, which is a problem for conventional digital amplifiers, the SU-G700M2 features an ingenious jitter reduction circuit throughout the entire audible frequency range. In addition, a unique high-precision PWM conversion circuit is used for PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) conversion, which is important for sound quality. Thanks to the optimization of parameters such as noise shaping rate, the degree and number of quantization levels, and our unique experience, the data contained in high-resolution audio sources, even in a wide dynamic range, is converted into lossless PWM signals. These technologies reproduce natural and finely detailed sound, allowing even subtle musical nuances to be perceived.


LAPC (Load Based Phase Calibration)

Speaker impedance varies with frequency and requires a power amplifier to drive it, independent of speaker characteristics. However, conventional digital amplifiers are connected to speakers through a low-pass filter in the output stage, so they are further affected by the speaker's impedance characteristics. And although the amplitude characteristics of conventional amplifiers have been improved by using negative feedback, the phase characteristics have not been improved. Therefore, we developed an adaptive speaker impedance optimization algorithm that performs DSP-corrected ideal impulse response by measuring the frequency-amplitude-phase characteristics of the amplifier with connected speakers. The new method allows smoothing the frequency response of amplitude and phase and provides a rich spatial expressiveness of the sound, which has not previously been possible with amplifiers.


Advanced Speed Silent Power Supply

The power technology implemented in the SU-R1000 reference model has been used to enhance the speaker drive power and feel of energy. To ensure a stable voltage and current supply and reduce the negative impact of modulation noise on sound quality, the switching frequency has been increased from the usual 100 kHz range to the 400 kHz range. To maximize the performance of the high-speed switching power system, the device is equipped with the same gallium arsenide (GaN) FETs and silicon carbide Schottky diodes (SiC SBD) found in the SU-R1000.

In addition, the last stage features an ultra-low noise regulator. In this way, deterioration of regulation due to a fixed PWM frequency is prevented and noise is not mixed into high frequencies. The result is a low noise, high performance power supply that maximizes digital amplifier performance.


Three-section configuration

There are many circuits in integrated amplifiers, including those that handle micro-signals at the input and high current, such as output circuits and power circuits. The SU-G700M2 uses a three-section design with baffles installed between circuit blocks according to the signal level to be processed. This eliminates the interference between them, thereby achieving pure sound transmission. In addition to the three-section structure, the SU-G700M2 is equipped with a chassis with a double-layer structure of 1.2mm and 2mm steel plates, a 1.6mm steel plate top panel, and a 7mm aluminum front panel for effective vibration damping.


Low noise PHONO input

PHONO MC input is now supported. The PHONO input is low-noise by using a differential parallel connection configuration of the low-noise FET of the first stage. In addition, four-level gain control allows you to select the best gain according to the output power of the cartridge. This ensures optimal playback of high quality analog recorded sound sources adapted to the user's environment.


AA headphone amplifier

The SU-G700M2 uses a class AA headphone amplifier with separate voltage and current amplification circuits for the audio signal. The voltage is amplified by a high-quality op-amp, the current is amplified by a high-current-supplying op-amp, and the high-quality PWM signal from the JENO Engine is converted to analog with high precision, allowing you to perfectly drive the headphone speakers. This allows you to play music with low distortion and a wide frequency range, regardless of the headphone impedance characteristics.
